BARRY L. ANDERSON

Barry is a partner with Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C. and has over thirty-five years of public accounting experience. Prior to employment at Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C., he was employed at KPMG Peat Marwick for over seventeen years.

Barry has a broad and diverse audit background and has had extensive experience in audits of both public and private organizations including manufacturing, contractors, healthcare, not-for-profit, insurance, utilities, real estate, and employee benefit plans. He also served as a national accounting and auditing instructor for various audit courses while at KPMG Peat Marwick. He has extensive experience in providing audit and accounting services, business and individual tax services, and general business counseling.

Barry is a Certified Public Accountant and a 1973 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Barry is currently serving as President and elected Board member (seventh term) of the Bettendorf Community School District and previously served as Treasurer of the Bettendorf Community School District. He also serves as a Board member of the Scott County Regional Authority and the Vera French Foundation. He is a past chairman of the finance committee of St. Paul Lutheran Church and has served on various committees of the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of the Quad Cities.

 

 

DONALD C. LOWER

Don is a partner with Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C. with over twenty-five years of public accounting experience. His accounting career includes working with professionals and clients at both the local and national accounting firm levels.

Don specializes in tax and accounting services, working with individuals and closely-held businesses. His industry specialization includes manufacturing, retail, real estate development, distribution, healthcare & service companies, as well as tax-exempt organizations. Don works closely with business owners in these industries assessing business operations, securing financing arrangements, and analyzing financial information. His tax experience encompasses personal/corporate income, state sales/use, and estate/gift tax planning. In addition, Don works with families and businesses in developing succession planning strategies, including transfers to the next generation or structuring the sale of the company.

Don is a Certified Public Accountant and a 1985 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is licensed to practice in Iowa and Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Institute of Management Accountants. Don is active in the community, having served on tax-exempt organization boards for the Friendly House and Bettendorf Optimist Club.

 

 

TODD J. WHITLOW

Todd is a partner with Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C. and has over twenty-three years of public accounting experience. Prior to his employment at Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C., he was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP for three years. In May of 1991, McGladrey & Pullen, LLP acquired the Davenport practice from KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP and Todd was with the McGladrey & Pullen, LLP office for eight years.

Todd has extensive experience in tax planning for financial institutions, construction companies, Subchapter S Corporations, and closely-held businesses. In addition, he is experienced in personal income taxes and estate gift tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.

Todd is a Certified Public Accountant and a 1988 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is licensed to practice in both Iowa and Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants (ISCPA). He is a member of Quad City Estate Planning Council and is currently the Treasurer for the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society and St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

 

 

MATTHEW F. BRUMFIELD

Matt is a partner with Anderson, Lower, Whitlow, P.C. and has over 11 years of public accounting experience. 

Matt specializes in audit and assurance services across a wide variety of privately-owned companies and nonprofit entities. 

Matt is a 2004 graduate of Assumption High School and a 2008 graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Marketing.   Matt continued his education by earning a Master's of Accountancy from St. Ambrose University in 2010. He is licensed to practice in both Iowa and Illinois and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants (ISCPA).
