Meet Our Staff

Georgiana Marinoff, CPA, Tax Accountant 

Born and raised in Bulgaria, Georgiana earned her combined Bachelor & Master’s degrees in accounting before relocating to Toronto, Canada in 1996 where she lived for four years.  In late 2000, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas and never left.   Her accounting career started in 1992 in the banking industry. In 2001 Georgiana became a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois and in 2006 became a Nevada licensed CPA. She has worked in public accounting since she moved to Las Vegas in 2000 and is thrilled to be part of the Gerety team.

In her free time, Georgiana enjoys reading, hiking and travel.  She particularly likes to experience new cultures, learn new things and strive for continuous self-improvement.  She also enjoys nature and is an animal lover.

Cyndi Bacon, Senior Tax Accountant

Cyndi joined Gerety & Associates, CPAs in January 2007. She has been working in the accounting field for over thirty years starting at a car dealership and working for several accounting firms over the last eighteen years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Although she was born in Canada, she's an Air Force fledgling, and a long-time resident of Las Vegas.

Patty Ilangilang, Senior Staff Accountant

Patty joined Gerety & Associates, CPAs in October 2016. She is an accountant with over 20 years of experience in account reconciliations, month-end close process and financial statement preparation. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Economics from De La Salle University.

Originally from the Philippines, she moved to Las Vegas in 1989 and started her accounting career in the casino industry. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Jake Peterson, Senior Tax Accountant

Jake Peterson joined Gerety & Associates, CPAs in January 2021 shortly after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Accounting from UNLV in 2020. With plans to sit for the CPA exam in 2021, he is looking forward to a long and rewarding career with the firm. Prior to joining the team, he started an Auto Detailing company conducting business both in Las Vegas, Nevada and Saint George, Utah where he learned knowledge about conducting a small business, building long term business relationships, and perfecting his customer service skills to all his clients. He enjoyed overseeing the day-to-day operations as well as completing the bookkeeping and tax returns each year. With 6 years of Bookkeeping experience coming from a private firm, he has been studying and working in the field since 2014.

Jake enjoys spending time on the golf course and traveling as often as possible. He also enjoys spending time with his two long-haired Chihuahuas, family, and friends whenever possible. His hobbies include hiking, working out, playing softball, and supporting his two favorite teams the New Orleans, Saints and the Las Vegas Golden Knights. 

Armen Melik, Enrolled Agent, Tax Accountant

Armen Melik joined the Gerety team in August 2021. He has lived in Las Vegas for the past 15 years. Originally from Uzbekistan, city of Tashkent Armen obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a major in Finance. He studied Accounting at UNLV and became an Enrolled Agent in June 2021. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked at Anderson Business Advisors’ tax department preparing individual and business tax returns.

Armen enjoys spending time with his daughter, relatives and friends. He am a member of local orthodox church. Russian is his native language and he likes to read or listen Russian classic literature. Armen’s favorite activities include hiking, camping, working out, playing soccer, snowboarding, skydiving and cooking.

Nicole Vuceta, Senior Bookkeeper

Nicole Vuceta joined the Gerety & Associates, CPAs team in February 2022. She has over twenty years of bookkeeping and business administrative experience. Her Accounting career began in 2000 at her family’s small business when she was introduced to QuickBooks software. She has a passion for helping small businesses grow and thrive. She gained significant experience servicing multiple clients in various industries and states as an independent contractor. She will soon obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Lee College of Business, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She plans to sit for the CPA exams in the future. Nicole is extremely grateful to be part of our firm that treats you like family from the moment you walk through the door.

Nicole is a second generation native of Las Vegas. She loves traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, learning new languages and discovering new cuisines. She spends as much time as she can with her family and two fur babies, Gia and Luke.

Delia Garcia, Bookkeeper

Delia Garcia started with Gerety & Associates, CPAs in January of 2016. She does bookkeeping for some of the Firm's clients, and the Firm as well. Delia came to Las Vegas from Los Angeles in 2001 and started working at a construction company as a Human Resources Clerk then worked up to Human Resources Generalist until 2007 when the economy and construction started slowing down. It was then that she changed her focus and pursued Bookkeeping in 2008. Delia is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She enjoys that Gerety & Associates, CPAs supports professional growth. "I liked that one of the Core Values of Gerety & Associates, CPAs is to support and encourage professional growth as the lifeblood of the organization's success. It's inspired me to consider returning to school to pursue a degree in accounting to better myself and to keep learning. I also like that the Firm is very different from what I have worked in the past. I am most definitely interested in learning new things and progressing," Delia says.

Delia loves spending time with her family, especially her grandson. The work/life balance and respect shown, professionally and personally, to each and every employee makes that something she can look forward to.
