Our Team
Stephen P. Hoerner, CPA
Steve began working for Patrick Hoerner, owner of the firm at the time, in high school. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Dickinson State University in 1998 and has been a CPA since 2002. He took ownership of the firm in 2004. Steve provides a wide range of consulting, planning, accounting, and tax preparation services. His focus is primarily on personal and small business accounts. Steve, along with his wife Crystal, are lifelong residents of Dickinson. They have 3 children. Steve enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, snowboarding and pretty much any other outdoor activity.
Jason M. Rodakowski, CPA
Jason Rodakowski joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC as partner in 2008. He is a Certified Public Accountant, working in public accounting since 2001. Jason provides tax preparation, accounting services, attest, QuickBooks support, and compliance services for all entity types. Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Dickinson State University.
Dana L. Schagunn, CPA CGMA CFE
Dana joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2008 and became a shareholder in 2011. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota and a Masters in Business Administration from Capella University. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2001.
Dana is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and Certified Fraud Examiner. He provides tax compliance services, corporate controller services, attestation services, and business consulting.
Dana grew up on a farm near New Rockford. He and his wife Tracy have three children.
Nathan Malkowski, CPA
Nathan joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2011, after graduating from Dickinson State University. He has had his CPA license since July 2013. He is a member of the North Dakota CPA Society. Nathan earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Dickinson State University in 2011.
You can find him on the golf course during the summer or enjoying paintball with friends. He's also always reading a science fiction book of some kind.
Kelly Logan, EA
Kelly joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2008. She is a 2006 graduate of Dickinson State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration. She is an Enrolled Agent and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She provides consulting, tax planning, accounting, and QuickBooks support for individuals and small businesses. Kelly lives in Dickinson with her husband Derek and their two young children, Kimber and Oliver. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and also playing board and card games.
Janna Rodakowski
Janna Rodakowski joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2010. Janna provides tax preparation, payroll support services, QuickBooks support, and quarterly services. Janna earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Dickinson State University in 2005. She plans to become an Enrolled Agent, expanding her qualifications for tax preparation.
Yvonne Goodin
Yvonne Goodin is a staff accountant who works primarily with Jason Rodakowski to assist with income tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, payroll tax preparation and sales tax preparation. Yvonne has worked in public accounting since 2005 with hands-on knowledge and experience. Yvonne graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a BA in German in 2002 and from Dominican University with a Masters in Library and Information Science in 2004. Outside of the office, Yvonne is a volunteer with Oreo’s Animal Rescue, enjoys reading, spending time with her family and pets, and traveling to warm weather destinations.
Alysa Ladbury
Alysa joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2015.
She is a staff accountant who works primarily with Steve Hoerner to assist with income tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, payroll tax preparation and sales tax preparation.
Alysa is also a notary public.
John Kappel
John Kappel joined Hoerner Rodakowski, PC in 2008. He provides data entry services, bookkeeping, and internal computer maintenance and support services.
